A Successful Night, Moves Into My Next Phase

Well the night was a success, although perhaps a little too much for my diabetic Tiff.

I still have to teach her to pace herself a little at dinner, especially when I make a dinner. It reminds me a little of my dear old Dad.

When Dad first come here to visit us in 2002, we took him to a Brazilian BBQ restaurant. There we told him to take things easy. Even though the salads looked very good, AND WERE, he should remember the meat was gonna come out until he had his fill, or our fill, which ever came last. But no, Dad filled his plate with the excellent Brazilian salads, leaving little or no room for the excellent BBQ meats he was about to encounter.

So last night Tiff was hungry, that I understand. But "slow down girl" the seafood salad and onion soup were only the starters. So when the Prime rib roast came out, 2 hours later, Tiff was done. She tasted everything to her credit, Anthony (my Sous Chef)
and his wife liked the evening fare also.

I need people to understand something here. I am not claiming to be some chef extraordinaire, but rather someone who enjoys simple yet tasty food. And that's what last night was. Simple and tasty. Anthony took a bundle home and we still did not have the full meal.

So off the food subject, although my "marathon runner" body would clearly tell you, food is a major part of my life, back to the blog, and blogging for that matter. My questions now become "why do people blog?", "what do people blog about?" And here I am starting my blog, number 2 in a series of my life and god only knows if ANYONE will ever read this.

So as I continue this awesome story of things I want to chat/blog about, Tiff turns on "American Idol". So let's look at this phenomenon. 8 years or seasons of this entertainment and still going strong. I watch it yes, but I am getting a little sick of the auditions where we look at stupid people just wanting to get their heads on television, hence the old nick name for television of "the idiot box", because sometime producers see the value of normal folk laughing at these idiots. Who tells some of these people they can sing? Who has the right to blatantly lie to these people about their talents. Although when Sophie, my middle child, sings on her Karaoke, I tell her she is good, even though Tiff and I cringe at every note that dribbles out of her pretty little face, also as we smile at each other with pride knowing she is the fruit of our loins.

Don't get me wrong I love music and I am very particular about the music I listen to. I lean towards smooth jazz, and love the feel some of this music really touches me deep. Tiff loves more alternative music and some of it really sound good to me. It's funny we both really do not have time for things English or from England, but we both have some musical favorites coming from England, plus Simon Cowell is very honest with his view on American Idol try outs. Sometimes it's good to be blunt.

Sooner or later I will start talking about my family and other stuff, maybe even religion and politics, and how my thoughts may differ from things I should believe. But that's it for today.

Cya later alligator!

Day One Valentines Day....2009

Happy Valentines Day???

So I don't believe in it.... my thoughts.... what does everyone do???? Live with their wife, girlfriend, significant other for 364 days.....then wake up and say... "Shit February 14th, I'd better say 'I love you'". Then never think of their feelings for their loved one again for 365 days.

Hallmark Cards rub their hands together and make mega bucks on bunnies buying cards, florist suddenly realize why they're in business, restaurants cook up a storm, and miscellaneous gifts are given. Why? Because people cannot say I LOVE YOU on any other day.

So here I am about to cook my beautiful wife, Tiffny, a 6 course meal. And here's the menu.
Starter - French 4 Onion Soup
Appertiser - Seafood Salad/Cocktail
Main - Rib Roast, Baked Spud, Honey Carrots and Bacon beans
Desert - Ice Cream and Cream Puffs
Afters - Antipasto.

Hey she deserves it, she's my wife, lover, mother to my 3 kids, a daughter, a worker, my personal comedian, listener and BFF....I hate that term for BEST FRIEND FOREVER, but she is.

So that's my first quick BLOG.

I will give new thoughts later.

Bye now.
